6-3-2: PROHIBITED ANIMALS:
   A.   It shall be unlawful for any person to own, use, keep or permit to be at large within the city limits any of the following animals: bees, horses, cattle, sheep, goats, ponies, mules, pigs, swine, hogs, ducks, geese, minks, skunks, foxes, chinchillas or any other livestock or poultry or any wild or vicious animal dangerous to human beings. Rabbits shall be permitted up to five (5) per household and shall not be raised for human consumption. Chickens shall be permitted up to five (5) per household. Roosters are prohibited. All chickens shall be kept within a pen, coop, building or other enclosure sufficient in size and strength to confine such animals to the owner's property and protect them from weather and cold. These enclosures must have a minimum of four (4) square feet per chicken with a one hundred (100) square foot maximum size, shall not be erected or maintained within fifteen feet (15') of any occupied residence other than that of the owner and be kept clean. Section 6-3-6 of this chapter and section 7-1-2 of this code shall apply to foul odor and housing conditions regarding rabbits. (Ord., 5-25-2010)
   B.   It shall be unlawful to permit any dangerous or vicious animal of any kind to run at large in the city. Exhibitions or parades of animals which are ferae naturae in the eyes of the law may be conducted only upon securing a permit from the city council.
   C.   The members of the police department or any other persons in the city are authorized to kill any dangerous animal when it is necessary for the protection of any person or property. (Ord., 5-11-2004)
