§ 47-15. CUSTOMER DUTIES.
   All garbage receptacles must be placed at the curb on the designated collection day by 7:00 a.m. in the morning. There are no limits to the number of receptacles or plastic bags the customer can use to deposit solid waste (excluding yard trash). There is no limit to the numbers of containers or the quantity of (yard) trash that will be picked up by the collector; provided that the (yard) trash is prepared as required by this article and any relevant franchise agreement. Plastic bags for collection of solid waste (excluding yard trash) must be of sufficient strength to hold the contents so as not to tear when being placed in the truck. All yard trash must be containerized, preferably in reusable containers. Plastic bags shall not be used for the collection of (yard) trash. Tree trimmings and palm fronds shall be tied in bundles not to exceed four feet in length, 12 inches in diameter, and not weighing more than 50 pounds and placed at the curb for pick-up. Yard trash must be separated from other types of solid waste for pickup. Household junk (white goods), such as stoves, hot water heaters and refrigerators with doors removed, will be collected within 72 hours after a customer calls the collector. In the event the county landfill will no longer accept household junk, white goods or similar materials, the collector will, with notice given, not be required to collect these items. In the event the landfill imposes a fee to dispose of household junk, white goods, or similar materials, the collector will be permitted to pass along the disposal fee; provided always, that the collector shall, before collecting such items, advise the customer in writing of the existence of the fee and the amount to be charged by the landfill. The collector shall not charge any extra fee over and above the pro-rata fee charged by the landfill to the customer.
