(a) By authority of Chapter 650, Florida Statutes, in order to extend to officials and employees of the town, except as such as are hereinafter excluded, the coverage of the Old-age and Survivors Insurance system embodied in the Social Security Act, as amended, is hereby adopted by the town.

(b) All part-time employees shall be excluded from the social security coverage provided for in division (a) of this section.
