§ 11-55. AUXILIARY POLICE.
   (a)   There is hereby created a part-time auxiliary police force for the town. The qualifications for such person shall be in compliance with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Policies and Procedures Manual. The number of persons composing the force shall be determined by the Town Manager after consulting with the Chief of Police.

   (b)   The members of the auxiliary police force shall serve with no payment or salary except under special circumstances approved by the Town Manager.
   (c)   The duties, powers, and functions of the auxiliary police force shall be determined by the Chief of Police and shall be subject to approval by the Town Commission.
   (d)   The creation of the auxiliary police force shall in no way affect the operation and control of the regular Police Department of the town.
