§ 11-51. CHIEF OF POLICE.
   (a)   There is hereby established the office of Chief of Police.

   (b)   The duties of the Chief of Police shall be to keep peace within the town, enforce the laws of this state and the ordinances of the town, protect life and property, prevent crime, detect and arrest offenders and aid persons when requested to do so, if proper and legal.

   (c)   The Chief of Police shall answer directly to and be under the direct operational supervision of the Town Manager.

   (d)   Members of the Police Department shall answer directly to the Chief of Police who shall see that proper conduct and efficiency are maintained at all times. The Chief of Police shall report any necessary findings and recommendations to the Town Manager.
