Sec. 11.39. City Attorney to Determine Whether He Shall Represent the Officer or Employee.
 
   Whenever the City Attorney receives from any officer or employee any claim, demand, notice, summons or complaint with such officer or employee’s request for representation by the City Attorney with the approval of the appointing authority as provided in Subdivisions (b) and (c) of Section 11.38 hereof, the City Attorney shall determine whether or not he should represent the officer or employee as requested, and if the City Attorney determines that he should represent such officer or employee in the matter or suit, he is hereby directed by the Council to defend such officer or employee pursuant to Section 272 of the Charter.
