Sec. 434.
Wherever this Charter requires any record to be made or maintained by any officer or body, it shall be sufficient if a duly authenticated microfilm copy be made; and when so made, it shall be the official record. The applicable general laws of the State of California shall govern the maintenance, preservation and destruction of official records except as otherwise specifically provided in this Charter. The destruction of any record microfilmed as provided in this section shall first be authorized by resolution of the Council. (Amended, 1963.)
Records of historical, geographical or technical interest, which have served their purpose and are no longer required for the conduct of City business, may be delivered to and maintained by such officer, board or department designated by the Council by ordinance. (Sec. Added 1951.)
