(A) Pursuant to I.C. 36-7-12-4, the Council finds it necessary to create a body with the powers to finance economic development or pollution control facilities under the Act, and hereby establishes the City of Linton Department of Economic Development (the Department). The Department is established to exercise the powers set forth in the Act or otherwise granted by law. Pursuant to I.C. 36-7-12-5(d), the Department will be controlled by a board of five members to be known as the City of Linton Economic Development Commission (the Commission), consisting of three members to be selected by the Mayor, one member nominated by the Council and one member nominated by the Greene County Council, all of which shall be appointed by the Mayor.
(B) This section shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by the Council in the manner provided by law.
