234.01 CONSOLIDATION OF OFFICES. (REPEALED)
   (EDITOR'S NOTE: Section 234.01 was repealed as part of the 1995 updating and revision of these Codified Ordinances.)
234.02 APPOINTMENT; QUALIFICATIONS; TERM.
   Subject to the approval of Council, the Director of Finance shall appoint a competent person, who is a resident of the City, to the office of Ordinance Officer, which person shall serve in such position until his or her successor is appointed as provided in this chapter.
234.03 DUTIES; LICENSE TAXES; AUTHORITY TO ARREST.
   The Ordinance Officer shall perform such duties as are imposed upon him or her by law and by Council from time to time. It shall also be his or her duty to enforce all ordinances of the City providing for the payment of a license tax, and he or she shall be vested with the power and authority of a police officer of the City to arrest on view any person violating any ordinance of the City that it is his or her duty to enforce.
234.04 TESTS OF WEIGHTS AND MEASURES.
   The City shall supply the Ordinance Officer with standard tests of weights and measures in conformity with those established by the County, State and the Federal Governments.
234.05 TRANSFER OF POSITION; SUPERVISION; PAYROLL.
   (a)   The office of Ordinance Officer, together with the functions, duties and responsibilities of such Officer, is hereby transferred to the Department of Community and Economic Development and shall be subject to the supervision of the Codes Administrator.
   (b)   For payroll purposes, the Ordinance Officer shall appear on the payroll of the Director of Finance.
