   30.01   Absence or disability of the City Manager

§ 30.01 ABSENCE OR DISABILITY OF THE CITY MANAGER.
   (A)   During the absence or temporary disability of the City Manager or during the temporary vacancy of such office, the Assistant City Manager shall perform the duties of and have the authority of the City Manager as provided by law.
   (B)   In the event the Assistant City Manager is unable for any reason to perform the duties of the City Manager as provided in division (A), during the absence or temporary disability of the City Manager, or during the temporary vacancy of such office, the senior officer of the Police Department shall perform the duties of and have the authority of the City Manager as provided by law.
   (C)   In the event neither the Assistant City Manager nor the senior officer of the Police Department is able for any reason to perform the duties of the City Manager as provided in division (B) during the absence or temporary disability of the City Manager, or during the temporary vacancy of such office, the Mayor will assign an executive level department head to perform the duties of and have the authority of the City Manager as provided by law.

§ 30.02 PERSONNEL IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY MANAGER.
   (A)   The office of the City Manager shall consist of such positions and classifications as Council shall from time to time determine by ordinance are necessary in order to properly handle the village's business.
   (B)   The City Manager is authorized to fix the compensation for these in cases where ranges are indicated, in relation to compensation paid for similar work in comparable Ohio local government entities, special job classification requirements and performance, within such ranges.
