The installation of any mercury vapor light fixture, lamp or replacement bulb for use as an outdoor light is prohibited. Mercury vapor lamps in use for outdoor lighting for residential, commercial or municipal uses on February 23, 2000, may not be used after January 1, 2010. (Ord. 2889, 1-24-2000)
Only an owner or occupant of private property containing light trespass from a light may file a complaint with the city. Within ten (10) working days from the filing of the complaint, the city shall investigate if the light is causing light trespass on private property. If the light is causing light trespass, the city shall order the owner of the streetlight to remedy the light trespass. (Ord. 2889, 1-24-2000)
It shall be unlawful to install or operate any lighting fixture in violation of this title. Any violation of any provision of this title may be treated as a municipal infraction punishable by a civil penalty of not more than fifty dollars ($50.00) for each violation and other alternative relief from the court as provided by law. Each day the infraction exists constitutes a separate violation. (Ord. 2889, 1-24-2000)
