3-11-1: TITLE:

This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the WATER WELL CODE OF THE CITY OF HELENA, MONTANA. (Ord. 1705, 5-24-1965)

3-11-2: DEFINITIONS:

As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise requires:

   PERSON: Any individual, partnership, corporation or body politic, and includes any trustee, receiver, assignee or other similar representative thereof.

   WATER WELL: Any digging, drilling or excavation, by hand or by the use of machinery or equipment, whereby water is obtained from under the surface of the ground to be used on or above the ground surface. (Ord. 2492, 2-27-1989; amd. Ord. 2811A, 10-6-1997)

3-11-3: RESTRICTIONS:

No other water well is authorized, except as provided in this chapter. Except as may be allowed by the express permission of the city, piping from a water well may not be connected directly or indirectly or cross connected to piping connected to the city's water distribution system.
