2-1-1: DEPARTMENT ESTABLISHED:
There is hereby established an executive department of the Village municipal government to be known as the Hampshire Police Department, for the protection of lives and property, the enforcement of State laws and Village ordinances, and related police functions. (1985 Code)
2-1-2: PERSONNEL APPOINTED:
   A.   The Hampshire Police Department shall consist of one Chief of Police and such other policemen as may be provided from time to time by the Village President and Board of Trustees.
   B.   All members of the Hampshire Police Department, including the Chief of Police, shall be appointed by the Village President and Board of Trustees, as provided by law. (1985 Code)
