For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply, unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
FULL-PAID FIREFIGHTER. A firefighter who is paid regularly by the city and devotes his or her whole time to firefighting.
PARTIALLY-PAID FIREFIGHTER. A firefighter who is paid by the city for part-time work.
VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER. A firefighter who, of his or her own free will, has volunteered to assist either without compensation or for nominal compensation, in fighting all fires within the city or agency contracting for fire protection.
