A. Underground Sprinkling Systems: Underground sprinkling systems cannot be installed except with the written approval of the building commissioner. Requests for permission to install an underground sprinkling system should be made in writing to the water superintendent, giving details of the system, including the number of nozzles. The water superintendent is empowered to require the installation of a separate water meter for such a system. Requests for an underground sprinkling system will be accompanied by a two hundred fifty dollar ($250.00) deposit to be returned after the backflow shutoff valve has been properly installed and certified by a licensed backflow inspector as prescribed by IEPA regulations. B. Sprinkling During Fires: All sprinkling in the village shall be discontinued during a fire.
C. Devices To Increase Flow Prohibited: It shall be unlawful to use or install any motor, engine or other power driven pump or device for the purpose of increasing the flow or pressure of the water delivered from the water mains, except for firefighting purposes. (Ord., 9-10-1956)
