(A) Before entering upon the duties of their respective offices, the Mayor, each Commissioner and the Village Clerk shall execute bonds conditioned upon the faithful performance of their duties, with good and sufficient sureties approved by the Council, in the penal sum of $3,000.
(B) The Village Treasurer shall execute a bond conditioned upon the faithful performance of his or her duties in an amount as prescribed by statute.
(C) All bonds required by this section shall be filed as prescribed by statute.
(D) The Council may from time to time by ordinance designate and direct that additional officers and employees file bonds and may further designate the amount of the bonds.

(A) The Mayor and Commissioners shall receive compensation only in the manner provided by statute.
(B) All other officers and employees of the village shall receive the salaries as may be provided from time to time by resolution of the Council.
(C) No officer or employee receiving a salary from the village shall be entitled to retain any portion of any fees collected by him or her in the performance of his or her duties as a municipal officer or employee in the absence of a specific ordinance provision to that effect.

Every officer of the village, upon the termination of his or her office, for any cause whatsoever, shall deliver to his or her successor all books and records which may be the property of the village; and if no successor has been appointed within one week after the termination of office, the property shall be delivered to the Clerk or to the Treasurer.
