The following codes are hereby adopted by the City for the purpose of prescribing regulations related thereto, one copy of each being on file in the Office of Code Enforcement Officer. Said codes are hereby adopted and incorporated as though fully set out at length herein, and from the effective date, the provisions thereof shall be controlling within the limits of the City. If any provision of current ordinances of the City is in conflict with the provisions of the Building Code, except as provided in this chapter, the provisions of the Building Code shall prevail.

As adopted by the State of Oklahoma and as amended and modified in Oklahoma Administrative Code (OAC) 748: 20-1-1; 20-5-1 to 20-5-23, to be the minimum standards for residential construction for one and two family dwellings and townhouses; and 748: 20-1-1 to 20-15-16, to be the minimum standards for commercial construction. A. There is a Department of Building Inspection, the head of which is the building official. The building official, otherwise sometimes called the building inspector, is an officer of the City, and has supervision of the Building Inspection Department, including the electrical inspector, the plumbing inspector, or any other inspector and assistant inspectors appointed in the department.
B. The Building Inspection Department shall inspect buildings, plumbing, electrical installations, and other installations as may be provided by law or ordinance.
C. Whenever reference is made to the duties of the building official or inspector in the Building Code, it shall mean the City inspector of the City. The City inspector shall be the responsible official for enforcing the provisions of the Building Code. (1984 Code)
