A. There is a Department of Building Inspection, the head of which is the building official. The building official, otherwise sometimes called the building inspector, is an officer of the City, and has supervision of the Building Inspection Department, including the electrical inspector, the plumbing inspector, or any other inspector and assistant inspectors appointed in the department.
B. The Building Inspection Department shall inspect buildings, plumbing, electrical installations, and other installations as may be provided by law or ordinance.
C. Whenever reference is made to the duties of the building official or inspector in the Building Code, it shall mean the City inspector of the City. The City inspector shall be the responsible official for enforcing the provisions of the Building Code. (1984 Code)
