At each meeting of the City Commission, the following regular order of business shall be observed, unless dispensed with by a majority vote of the members present:
(A) Call to order by the Mayor;
(B) Roll call;
(C) Presentation of minutes from previous meeting and approve or make needed corrections;
(D) New business;
(E) Old business;
(F) City Manager's report;
(G) Unscheduled items;
(H) Citizen comments; and
(I) Adjournment.

The rules of order and parliamentary procedure contained in Robert’s Rules of Order, Newly Revised, shall govern the transaction of business by and before the City Commission at its meetings in all cases to which they are applicable and in which they are not inconsistent with provisions of the charter or this code.

The Board of Commissioners encourage each member of the governing body to attend Level I of the Elected Officials Academy as presented by the University of Tennessee’s Municipal Technical Advisory Service (UT-MTAS), and encourages its members to attend Level II of the Elected Officials Academy and also encourages attendance of an additional four hours of continuing education each year.
