HOME OCCUPATIONS

12-14-2: Home Occupation Agreement
12-14-1: CRITERIA FOR APPROVAL:
Occupations operated entirely within dwellings or accessory buildings 1 by a person who owns and resides in the dwelling unit as a clearly secondary and incidental use of such dwelling for residential purposes, which use must not change the residential character thereof shall meet the following conditions:
   A.   Retail Sales: There shall be no retail sales, except those produced on the premises used in the completion of the occupation.
   B.   Commercial Industry: There shall be no obvious commercial industry.
   C.   Open Storage: There shall be allowed no open storage of materials or waste associated with the business.
   D.   Traffic: The home occupation shall not generate vehicular traffic measurable in excess of that normally associated with single-family residential use.
   E.   Floor Space: Not more than one room or twenty percent (20%) of the floor space of the living area, whichever is greater, shall be used for the home occupation 2 .
   F.   Signs: There may be a non-flashing sign not exceeding two (2) square feet in area indicating the name and/or occupation of a person residing in or legally occupying the premises or indicating a home occupation legally existing on the premises.
   G.   Objectionable Characteristics: There shall be created no objectionable noise, odor, dust, vibration, fumes, smoke, or electrical interference with the residential use of adjacent properties.
   H.   Annual Review: Home occupations may be reviewed annually.
   I.   Home Occupation Application Fee: All home occupation applications shall be accompanied by an initial fee of twenty five dollars ($25.00). (Ord. 709, 2-22-2018)

IN ORDER FOR AN APPLICATION FOR A HOME OCCUPATION TO BE APPROVED, AN INDIVIDUAL OPERATING FROM A RESIDENCE MUST AGREE TO COMPLY WITH THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
A. There shall be no retail sales except those produced on the premises used in completion of the occupation.
