§ 1240.01 SHORT TITLE.
   These subdivision regulations shall be known and may be cited and referred to as the “Subdivision Regulations of the City of Columbiana, Ohio,” or just the “subdivision regulations.” Hereinafter, they shall be referred to as “these subdivision regulations” or “these regulations.”

§ 1240.02 PURPOSE.
   The general purpose of these subdivision regulations is to guide and regulate the planning, subdividing and development of land in order to promote and protect the public health, safety, convenience, comfort and prosperity and the general welfare of the municipality.

§ 1240.03 OBJECTIVES.
   These subdivision regulations shall be administered to achieve the following objectives:
   (a)   The orderly development of land to create harmonious and stable neighborhoods;
   (b)   Safe and convenient vehicular and pedestrian traffic circulation;
   (c)   Adequate and economical provisions for utilities and public services in order to conserve the public funds;
   (d)   Ample public open spaces for schools and recreational and other public purposes;
   (e)   The accurate surveying of land and preparing and recording of plats;
   (f)   Discouraging of premature, uneconomical or scattered subdivisions; and
   (g)   Coordination of land development in accordance with the Zoning Code, the Major Thoroughfare Plan, the Comprehensive Development Plan and other plans of the municipality.
