§ 173.06 Mayor
   (a)   Commencing January 1, 1990, the salary of the Mayor shall be eighty thousand dollars ($80,000.00) per year. Commencing June 1, 1990, the salary of the Mayor shall be eighty-two thousand five hundred dollars ($82,500.00) per year. The annual salary of the Mayor for the year 1991 shall be eighty- five thousand dollars ($85,000.00). The annual salary of the Mayor for the year 1992 shall be eighty-seven thousand five hundred dollars ($87,500.00). The annual salary of the Mayor for the year 1993 shall be ninety thousand dollars ($90,000.00).
   (b)   Commencing April 1, 1994, the salary of the Mayor shall be ninety-three thousand six hundred dollars ($93,600.00) per year and shall be increased in 1995 and in each year thereafter by an amount which shall be computed by applying that percentage of the immediately preceding year’s salary that is equal to the percentage for increases in salaries and wages established for that year in a majority of the collective bargaining agreements between the City and the various unions recognized by the City. Such increase shall be effective on the same date as the effective date for salary or wage increases in a majority of the collective bargaining agreements.
   (c)   The salary of the Mayor shall be paid in twelve (12) equal monthly installments, as provided by Charter Section 69.

§ 173.07 Members of Council
   (a)   On and after January 2, 1982, and thereafter on January 2nd of each of the years 1983 and 1984, the salary of each member of Council as heretofore fixed by Ordinance No. 2927-76, passed December 20, 1976, shall be increased by the amount of ten percent (10%) over the previous year’s salary and on January 2nd of the year 1985 said salary shall be increased by the amount of five percent (5%) over the previous year’s salary, except that of Council President, as member of Council shall receive twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) per annum.
   (b)   The annual salary of members of Council for the year 1986 shall be twenty-six thousand six hundred sixty-four dollars ($26,664.00). The annual salary of members of Council for the years 1987 through 2005 shall be twenty-six thousand six hundred sixty-four dollars ($26,664.00) adjusted upward by an amount equal to six percent (6%) of the immediate preceding year’s salary, provided, however, that such upward adjustment shall not be made in any year in which a majority of the collective bargaining agreements between the City and the various unions recognized by the City do not provide for salary or wage increases.
   (c)   Commencing January 1, 2006, the annual salary of members of Council shall be increased each year by an amount which shall be computed by applying that percentage of the immediately preceding year’s salary that is equal to the percentage for increases in salaries and wages established for that year in a majority of the collective bargaining agreements between the City and the various unions recognized by the City. Such increase shall be effective on January 1st of each year.
   (d)   The salaries of members of Council shall be paid in equal semimonthly installments, as provided by Charter Section 27.

§ 173.071 Reimbursement of Expense for Members of Council
   The members of Council shall be entitled to be reimbursed the cost of expenses incurred by them in the performance of their official duties in an amount not to exceed one thousand and two hundred dollars ($1,200.00) per month. Requests for reimbursement shall be submitted monthly in writing to the Clerk of Council. Expenses submitted for reimbursement must be substantiated by written documentation in accordance with guidelines for the reporting of expenses by members of Council promulgated by the President of Council and approved by the rules Committee of the Council based upon the applicable reporting requirements of the federal income tax code for employee expense reimbursement programs. Notwithstanding the requirements of Section 171.43, members of Council may be reimbursed for the use of their vehicles in the performance of their official duties at the rate for mileage allowance promulgated by the Internal Revenue Service. Notwithstanding any ordinance to the contrary, any Council Member may increase his or her Executive Assistant’s hourly rate of pay in excess of the standard rate in effect for Council Member Executive Assistants consistent with the aforementioned Council expense reimbursement policy.

§ 173.08 President of Council
   On and after January 2, 1982, the President of Council, in addition to the salary he or she receives as a member of Council, shall receive compensation of ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) per annum, payable as his or her salary.

§ 173.081 President of Council’s Ward Executive Assistant
   Notwithstanding any ordinance to the contrary, the President of Council’s Ward Executive Assistant shall receive compensation of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) per year in addition to the compensation established by ordinance for Councilmember Ward Executive Assistants and in addition to any funds the Council President’s Ward Executive Assistant may receive at the option of the Council Member pursuant to the Business Expense Reimbursement Policies and Procedures.

§ 173.09 Chief Justice and Judges of Municipal Court
   The Chief Justice and each judge of the Cleveland Municipal Court shall receive compensation as may be established by RC 1901.11, provided that three-fifths (3/5) of such compensation shall be payable from the City Treasury in semimonthly installments.
