(a) No person shall act in the capacity of a surety bail bond agent, or perform any of the functions, duties or powers prescribed for surety bail bond agents under RC 3905.83 to 3905.95, unless that person is qualified, licensed, and appointed as provided in those sections.
(b) This section shall not apply whenever the conduct prohibited by this section constitutes a felony under RC 2927.27.
(c) Any person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree.
