Whoever violates any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree and shall, upon being convicted of or pleading guilty to a violation of this chapter, be subject to the penalties contained in Section 601.99. A separate offense shall be deemed committed each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues.
