Whenever the Commissioner finds that electrical wiring or equipment does not conform to the provisions of this chapter he or she shall require the person, firm, or corporation that installed such electrical wiring or equipment, and the person, firm or corporation owing, using, or operating such electrical wiring or equipment to place same in conformity with the applicable provisions of this chapter defining approved materials, equipment, and approved methods of installation and construction, within a reasonable time. If such electrical wiring or equipment is not made to conform to the provisions of this chapter within the prescribed time, and whenever any electrical equipment is installed without a required permit or not in conformity with OBBC and this Building Code, the Commissioner may disconnect, or order the disconnection, of electrical service to such electrical wiring or equipment.
