§ 389.27 Approved Standards for Installation
   (a)   All sprinkler installations shall be installed in conformity with the provisions of this Fire Prevention Code and accepted safe practice.
   (b)   Except as otherwise provided in this Code, statutes, rules or regulations promulgated by authority of statute or other ordinances, conformity with the recommendations and requirements of NFPA Standard No. 13 entitled “Installation of Sprinkler Systems” shall be accepted as conformity with accepted safe practice. However, only a single automatic water supply conforming to the requirements contained in NFPA Standard No. 13 for primary supply shall be required; provided further that the Board of Building Standards and Building Appeals may change, modify or supplement any of the requirements of NFPA Standard No. 13 when deemed necessary in the interest of public safety or to further define accepted safe practice.
   (c)   When deemed necessary for safety to life or property, the Commissioner of Building may require compliance with any recommendation or requirement of NFPA Standard No. 13 as modified in subsection (b) hereof.
