All Siamese and other connections, fire pumps and their control devices, check, control and other valves, pipeline fittings, and other units of equipment and accessories of sprinkler systems shall be of a type approved by the Board of Building Standards and Building Appeals and classified by it for the water pressures or other operating and service conditions to which they will be subjected. Devices tested, classified or approved by the Underwriters’ Laboratories, Inc., or by other recognized testing laboratory with adequate equipment, experience and competency in this field, may be approved by the Board without additional tests.
