All fire protection equipment, tanks, risers, standpipes, domestic house tanks, compression tanks and all other tanks that have a weight check valve for backflow prevention and are supplied with water from the Chicago Waterworks System shall be drained and flushed at least every 12 months. Further, fire protection systems and equipment shall be kept free from accumulations of sand, silt, and stagnant water which would nullify the action of the chlorine content of City water.
