Copper tube used for refrigerant piping erected on the premises shall be seamless copper tube of type ACR, manufactured in accordance with ASTM B280. Where required and approved for systems in excess of the rated pressure of Type ACR tube, copper tube shall be seamless copper tube of Type K complying with ASTM B819, or Type K complying with ASTM B88 and shall be internally cleaned and capped. Annealed temper copper tube shall not be used where the system contains more than 100 pounds (45.36 kg) of refrigerant in sizes larger than 7/8 inch (22 mm) nominal size. Fittings shall be forged brass, wrought copper, or bronze alloy.
