An employee holding a provisional appointment in a career service position as defined by Section 2-74-030(13) of this ordinance immediately prior to the adoption of this ordinance shall continue in that position without further examination unless separated as provided by ordinance or rule, or unless the position is not otherwise reclassified, reallocated or exempted from the career service as provided by this ordinance. Any such employee shall also be required to serve a probationary period of one year commencing from the date of the adoption of this ordinance.
