“Excavator” means a person who by electrically equipped apparatus, steam shovel or other mechanical device, or by day labor, excavates, removes or carries away dirt, rock, cinders, building material, sand, debris or other substance or material in order to construct the foundation of any house, residence, store or other public or private building or structure requiring a foundation to be constructed below the level of the public way, or any sewer, vault or other like work requiring the removal of dirt, rock, sand, debris or other substance.

An application for said license shall be made in conformity with the general requirements of this Code relating to applications for licenses. In addition the applicant shall state the particular kind of excavating the applicant proposes to engage in, the equipment possessed by such applicant, and the experience which such applicant has had, if any.

The fee for a limited business license issued under this chapter shall be as set forth in Section 4-5-010 .
