1345.02 ERECTION OF AWNINGS.
   Every awning hereafter set up, erected or maintained over any sidewalk in the City shall be elevated at least seven feet at the lowest part thereof above the sidewalk. Awnings so constructed as to swing with their frames against the building, may project over the sidewalk, not to exceed two-thirds of the width of the sidewalk. Fixed iron awning frames may project not to exceed eight feet over the sidewalk from the inner sidewalk line. Every awning placed or maintained over any sidewalk shall be supported without posts, by iron brackets or proper iron hinges or pivots, with an iron framework firmly attached to the building against which such awning is placed, which framework shall be so made as to swing with such awning against the building. The sidewalk shall be wholly unobstructed thereby. No wooden, or nonmovable awning, awning frame, shed or cover shall be erected or permitted to remain on or over any sidewalk, and no article or merchandise, poster or other article shall be attached to or suspended from any awning or awning frame extending over any sidewalk, nor shall any sign be attached thereto, except such signs as may be printed or painted upon such awning.
