157.07 SELECTION OF CANDIDATES.
   Immediately prior to the appointment of candidates for employment, the Equal Employment Opportunity Compliance Officer, appointed pursuant to Section 157.10, shall review the statistical composition for minorities in the respective departments and shall provide such information to the appointing authority. In making the selection of candidates, the appointing authority shall take into consideration the statistical composition of the respective departments and shall make every reasonable effort to achieve the goal and carry out the purposes of this chapter. The appointing authority shall select from the candidates certified for employment the candidate of his choosing without regard to relative score or ranking. The selection of candidates shall be determined by a combination of factors which shall include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s rank order on the eligibility list, the recommendations of the interview committee, qualifications, previous work experience, training and education. No candidate shall be appointed unless he/she passes the medical and psychological examinations set forth in the Canton Civil Service Commission’s Rules and Regulations.
