1301.02 AUTHORITY OF CHIEF BUILDING OFFICIAL.
   (a)    The Building Code invests the Chief Building Official with the authority and responsibility to administer and enforce all laws controlling safe building construction and all other applicable laws and regulations dealing with the planning, construction, use or maintenance of buildings or structures. He is authorized and directed to enforce all provisions of the City Building Code when they have been adopted by Council and has the authority to enter any building or premises for the purpose of inspection or for the prevention of violations. If the Chief Building Official’s orders are not complied with, he has the authority to proceed with the appropriate legal action. If work is being done, or a condition exists which constitutes immediate danger to the public, he has the authority to take immediate steps for the removal of the unsafe conditions without court action.
