As used in this chapter, the following words shall have the following meaning:
CARD ROOM: Any place of business, place of amusement or room or place in the city, open to the public, in which is played or conducted or permitted to be played or conducted, any game of cards or any game in which playing cards are used.
CITY: The city of Buhl, Idaho.
CLERK: The city clerk-treasurer of the city.
COUNCIL: The city council of the city.
PERSON: Shall include all individuals, firms, partnerships, associations, corporations or any group or corporation acting as a unit, and the plural as well as the singular; unless the intent to give a more limited meaning is disclosed by the context. (1974 Code § 2-1002)
This chapter shall be deemed an exercise of the police power of the city for the protection of the public health, peace and morals of the inhabitants of said city, and all of its provisions shall be liberally construed for the attainment of that purpose. (1974 Code § 2-1001)
