ARTICLE II
EXECUTIVE - THE MAYOR
   SECTION 2.01. EXECUTIVE POWER.
   Except as otherwise provided in this Charter, the executive power shall be invested in a Mayor.
   SECTION 2.02. ELECTION AND QUALIFICATIONS OF MAYOR.
   The Mayor shall be elected by the people at the regular municipal election every four years beginning with the regular municipal election held in November, 1989, for a term of four years to begin on the first day of January after his election, but an incumbent Mayor shall continue in office until his successor is elected, qualified and has taken office, including the person holding the office of Mayor under the prior Charter at the time that revised Charter is to take effect. He shall be an elector of the City and shall not hold any other public office or public employment, except that of notary public, member of the State Militia, or member of the reserve forces of the armed forces of the United States. The Mayor shall not be disqualified by this Charter from holding an office in or position of employment with a political party.

   SECTION 2.03. OFFICE AND SALARY.
   The office of the Mayor shall be in the Municipal Building of the City. The salary of the Mayor shall be set by ordinance.
