§ 119.010 WASTE DISPOSAL.
   Waste oil or other flammable liquids shall be stored in metal containers pending removal from the premises. No such waste shall be permitted to drain into any sewer or storm water drainage system. Rags and soiled waste shall be kept in metal containers.

§ 119.011 BUILDING AND FIRE REGULATIONS.
   The construction and equipment of filling stations, including tanks, and the requirements for safety clearances around the stations shall be made and maintained in accordance with the provisions of the building code and other applicable ordinances. Filling stations shall be inspected by the Fire Marshal or the Fire Marshal’s duly authorized representative at least once every year.

MOTOR VEHICLE SALES AND REPAIR
§ 119.025 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   MOTOR VEHICLE. Unless a contrary intent is expressly shown, means all species of self-propelled vehicles operated by gasoline or any kind of oil, steam, electricity, alcohol or other substance or method and operated on the public ways of the city other than on rails.
   MOTOR VEHICLE REPAIR SHOP. Any building, structure, premises, enclosure or other place where the business of repair work on or for motor vehicles or any of their component parts, the replacing of or the adding of parts, the polishing, washing, greasing, painting or refinishing of vehicles is carried on.
   MOTOR VEHICLE SALESROOM. Any building, structure, premises, enclosure or other place within the city where the business of dealing in new or secondhand motor vehicles, or any parts or accessories, is conducted or operated.

§ 119.026 PREMISES TO BE KEPT CLEAN AND SAFE.
   (A)   No owner, proprietor, lessee, manager or superintendent of any salesroom, shop, garage or other place where workers are employed for wages in and about motor vehicles shall cause, permit or allow the whole or any portion of the salesroom, shop, garage or other place to be overcrowded or inadequate, faulty or insufficient in respect to light, ventilation, heat and cleanliness. Fresh air shall be supplied by ventilation in accordance with the building provisions of the city.
   (B)   All such places of employment or service shall be kept in a clean condition, and free as far as practicable from all gases, vapors, dust or other impurities which are injurious to health which are generated by manufacturing processes or the operation of motors or other machinery.
   (C)   Sufficient and separate properly ventilated water closets shall be provided for male and female employees.
   (D)   Lockers for workers’ clothing shall be made of metal.
   (E)   All places of business where any spraying of paint or other combustible or flammable liquids is conducted at any time shall be equipped with a spray booth meeting the construction requirements of Ch. 94 of this code of ordinances.
   (F)   All used vehicle tires shall be stored in an enclosed area of the place of business. If the place of storage is located outside of a building, it shall be enclosed by a chain link fence a minimum of eight feet high and shall be equipped with locked gates.

§ 119.027 INSPECTION.
   The Building Commissioner, Plumbing Inspector, Chief of the Fire Department and Health Officer shall inspect all motor vehicle repair shops and motor vehicle salesrooms within the city as often as they shall deem necessary and before any license is issued or reissued, to see that the provisions of this subchapter and all other chapters and all of the requirements of the laws of the state are complied with; and, if they find such premises in an unsanitary or unsafe condition, they shall require such alterations or arrangements to be made as may be necessary for the safety and health of the employees and patrons, pursuant to the provisions of the laws of the city and such laws of the state as may be in force concerning health, sanitary and safety measures.

§ 119.028 SMOKING PROHIBITED.
   No person shall permit smoking in any public garage or places where flammable material is stored.

§ 119.029 LICENSE REQUIRED.
   No person shall engage in the business of operating a motor vehicle repair shop without having obtained a license.
