ARTICLE I. GENERAL PROVISIONS
(A) Before being able to obtain a building permit, any contractor, subcontractor, or any other person so applying, shall show to the satisfaction of the issuing officer, that they have applied for, and hold a valid, nondelinquent license as required by Chapter 60, and have further complied with all other terms of the chapter.
(B) Before there shall be any inspection by building, gas, electric or plumbing inspectors of work done within the city, satisfactory evidence must be produced showing that the person or firm requesting the inspection and/or the person or firm having performed the work, has applied for, and hold a valid, nondelinquent license as required by this chapter, and have further complied with all other terms and conditions of the chapter.

(A) Definitions. For the purposes of this article, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
“ENGINEERED LUMBER.” Fabricated I-joists, truss joists, truss rafters, and laminated beams or studs.
“STRUCTURE.” Primary, secondary, and accessory structures as defined in the city Land Use Regulations.
(B) All structures constructed with engineered lumber after the effective date of this ordinance shall have a reflective symbol affixed, visible from the exterior of the structure, to each electrical meter that serves each structure.
(C) The reflective symbol shall be in the form of a sticker, issued by the office of the city Building Code Enforcement that states the structure has been constructed with engineered lumber.
(D) Any person violating this ordinance by refusing to place the reflective symbol or by removing the reflective symbol shall be subject to a fine of $25.00 per offense, each day constitutes a separate offense.
(E) The reflective symbols shall read as follows: F = Fabricated floor system; R = Fabricated roof truss system; an FR = Fabricated floor and roof truss system.

No building permit shall be issued until the fees prescribed in this article have been paid. No amendment to a permit shall be approved until the additional fee, if any, due to an increase in the estimated cost of the building or structure has been paid.
