2-2-8: PURCHASES AND EXPENDITURES:
The village board of trustees may, on recommendation from the village administrator, authorize any purchase or contracts necessary to place the village in a position to combat effectively any disaster, and to protect the public health and safety, protect property and provide emergency assistance to the victims in the case of such disaster.
In the event of any disaster, the village administrator or BEMA coordinator is authorized, on behalf of the village, to procure such services, supplies, equipment or materials as may be necessary for such purposes in view of exigency, without formalities normally prescribed by law. If the board of trustees meets at the time of such disaster, the village administrator shall act subject to the directions and restrictions imposed by the village board. (Ord. 99-97, 9-7-1999)
