There is hereby created the Bartlett emergency management agency (BEMA) to prevent, minimize, repair, and alleviate injury or damage, resulting from disaster caused by enemy attack, sabotage or other hostile action, or from natural or technological causes or manmade disaster, in accordance with the Illinois emergency services and disaster act of 1992, 20 Illinois Compiled Statutes 3305/1 et seq.
In order to provide a means by which the village may effectively respond, preserving the lives and property of its citizens and protecting the public peace, health, and safety, in the event of such a disaster the BEMA shall consist of the coordinator and such additional members as may be selected by the coordinator.
