§ 51.18 SEPARATE METERED SERVICE LINES REQUIRED FOR IN-GROUND IRRIGATION SYSTEMS.
All newly installed in-ground irrigation systems shall be constructed such that a separate metered service line serves the irrigation system. Installation methods for the service line will be determined after a site evaluation by the Collections and Distribution Superintendent. Prior to the installation of an in-ground irrigation system, a permit for the installation shall be obtained from the Town of Ayden's Planning Department as a part of the Zoning Compliance process. The completed irrigation system shall be inspected by the Town of Ayden's Collection and Distribution Superintendent or his/her designee as a condition of completing the Zoning Compliance process. The in-ground irrigation system shall be installed by a properly licensed contractor beginning at the discharge side of the meter and continuing to its terminus. All required appurtenances, including backflow prevention devices, shall be installed by the contractor at the expense of the person requesting service.
