8-4A-1: BOATING RESTRICTIONS:
   A.   Definitions: The following definitions shall apply to this section:
      NO WAKE SPEED: That speed at which a boat moves in order that wake or wash is not created while maintaining steerage control.
      SHORE ZONE: That water area within two hundred feet (200') of the shoreline or in a water area clearly marked by buoys or signs as a bathing, fishing or otherwise restricted area.
      TRAFFIC LANE: That water area beyond two hundred feet (200') of the shoreline, where power craft may operate and create wakes and washes during the hours set forth under this section.
   B.   No Wake Area Designated: The entire waters of Cross Lake, located in the state of Illinois, are hereby designated a no wake area as follows:
      1.   No Wake Hours: No person shall operate any watercraft at more than slow no wake speed between the hours of seven o'clock (7:00) P.M. and ten o'clock (10:00) A.M. The no wake hours are to be in effect during all periods of open (ice free) water.
      2.   No Wake Speed: No wake speed shall be maintained by all power craft within the shore zone of the Illinois side of Cross Lake at all times.
   C.   Direction Of Movement: All power craft must proceed in a counterclockwise pattern on the lake, in the traffic lane, whenever the power craft is engaged in towing a skier, aquaplane or similar device, or simply cruising.
   D.   Signs And Buoys: The village shall supply the marker buoys, and said marker buoys shall be placed in the waters of Cross Lake by the Oakwood Knolls Homeowners' Association under the supervision of the Antioch police department.
Signs and other postings relative to the provisions of subsection B of this section shall be placed at the entrance to and exit from the Oakwood Knolls Channel and at the boat launch areas by the Oakwood Knolls Homeowners' Association under the supervision of the Antioch police department.    E.   Penalty: Any person violating the provisions of this section will be fined as provided in the general penalty in section 1-3-1 of this code. Each violation of this section shall be considered a separate offense. (1976 Code § 103.001; amd. 2003 Code)
