Each applicant for a building permit subject to the provisions of this subchapter may elect to comply with the provisions hereof by planting or preserving the trees required under § 150.47 within the street-side tree preservation zone or within the entire street yard area, provided, however, the property shall thereafter be maintained in accordance with the approved site plan applicable to the method selected.
