All references made to public streets in this chapter are to be construed to refer to the nearest right-of-way line of said street. All public streets running north and south are described as “street”; those running east and west are described as “avenue”; curving or diagonal streets are described as “drive” or “parkway”; roads with a total length of one block or less are described as “lane”; and a cul-de-sac is described as either a “court,” “point,” or “circle.”
