A. Monthly Billing; Time Of Payment; Delinquency:
1. Users will be billed on a monthly basis with payment due twenty (20) days after the date of billing.
2. Users on metered water service will be billed on the same notice as water charges and will be designated as a separate entry.
3. Users of the wastewater system not on metered water service shall be charged at the rate established by the water and sewer superintendent.
4. Users with delinquent accounts of sixty (60) days will be notified in writing by the utility superintendent that water and/or wastewater services will be terminated unless the account is paid in full 1 .
5. The utility superintendent will utilize the law enforcement agency to assist as required in the control and management of the user charge system. (1986 Code § 18-19)
B. Billing With Water Charges; Partial Month:
1. For the purpose of billing users of the sanitary sewerage system, the said bill shall be the same as that which is now used for the billing of water charges by the city, and the due date for the payment of the sewer service charge shall be the same due date as for the payment for water bills. Billings for the sewer service charge shall be rendered on the water bills, where water bills are rendered, but shall be shown as a separate item from the water charge.
2. Where sewer service is commenced or terminated during a period for which bills will be rendered, there shall be no charge for a half month or less, but a major portion of a month shall be treated as a full month.
C. Accepting Payments: All payments for sanitary sewer service shall be made to the city clerk and deposited in the general fund, and the city clerk shall not accept payment for a water bill without payment of the sewer service charge, nor shall the clerk accept payment of the sewer service charge without payment of the water bill.
D. Discontinuance Of Service For Nonpayment: The failure to pay a sewer service charge when due shall be cause for discontinuing and disconnecting either the sewer connection or the water connection or both. (1986 Code § 18-21)
