The salary of the Mayor shall be fixed by Ordinance. The salary of Mayor shall not be increased or decreased during their term in office. Any ordinance establishing the salary of the Mayor shall be enacted by June 1 of the year prior to commencement of the term of the Mayor. The commission established pursuant to Section 31 of the Charter will make recommendations to the Council.
In addition to his or her salary as a member of Council as provided for in Charter Section 31, the President of Council selected as of January 1, 2002 shall receive the sum of Forty-Five Hundred Dollars ($4,500.00) annually, payable in bi-weekly installments. Thereafter, additional compensation for the President of Council may be established pursuant to a duly enacted ordinance but subject to the same limitations as are imposed by this Charter with respect to increasing the salaries of the Mayor and members of Council.
