§ 151.057 NOTICE THAT WORK IS READY FOR INSPECTION.
   (A)   When the electrical work in any building or other structure for which a permit has been obtained under this division is ready for inspection, notice in writing properly filled in upon blanks furnished at the office of the City Inspector, stating the location of the work, the name of the owner and the name of the electrician doing the work, shall be filed at the office of the City Inspector.
   (B)   Notice that the work is ready for inspection must be given at the office of the City Inspector, for morning inspections, before 5:00 p.m. the preceding day, and for afternoon inspections, before 12:00 noon the same day. A period of 48 hours, exclusive of Sundays and holidays, will be required in which to make inspection and report.

§ 151.058 NOTICE OF TIME OF INSPECTION; CONDUCT OF INSPECTION.
   As soon as possible after the filing of notice that work is ready for inspection, the City Inspector will notify the electrician in charge of the work when he or she will inspect the work; and the Inspector will test the work in the presence of the electrician in any manner, and in accordance with the provisions of this chapter. In large and complicated jobs, the work may be inspected and tested in sections on the approval of the Inspector.

§ 151.059 CORRECTION OF UNSAFE OR DEFECTIVE CONDITIONS.
   (A)   The City Inspector, or any duly authorized assistant, is hereby empowered to inspect or reinspect all interior wires and apparatus conducting or using electric current for lights, heat or power, and, when the conductors or apparatus are found to be unsafe to life or property, he or she shall notify the person owning, using or operating them to place them in a safe and secure condition within 24 hours,
or within such further time as the City Inspector shall determine is necessary. Any person failing or refusing to repair or remove the conductors or apparatus within 24 hours or within such further time as the City Inspector shall determine is necessary, after receipt of the notice, shall be subject to the penalty provided in § 10.99 of this code of ordinances.
   (B)   Whenever any electrical conductor or appliance used for any purpose in or on a building is, in the opinion of the City Inspector, contrary to the provisions of this chapter, he or she shall cause written notice to be served on that person using the conductor or appliance to discontinue the use of the conductor or appliance and to correct the defective conditions, hazards or violations within 48 hours or within ten days, as he or she may decree necessary and, upon failure to conform with the notice, the City Inspector is hereby authorized and directed to cause the electrical service wires supplying the unsafe conductor or appliance to be disconnected or cut off and require the wires to remain cut off until the defects, hazards or violations are remedied; and no person, whether proprietor, agent or employee, whether furnishing or using the conductor or appliance, may again use the conductor or appliance without first obtaining written permission to do so from the City Inspector.

§ 151.060 REINSPECTIONS; FINAL INSPECTION.
   (A)   If, after the first visit to a job on written notice to inspect the job, it is necessary to return to reinspect, or it is necessary to reinspect any work, whether from a defect or the work not being ready, the Inspector will return only on another written notice and not less than 24 hours after the notice, and shall charge a fee of $1 for so doing, all other notices taking precedence.
   (B)   After the entire completion of the work, a notice shall be given the Inspector for a final inspection; and, if he or she finds that the work has been satisfactorily done, he or she shall issue a final certificate of inspection on the request of the electrical contractor holding the permit, as provided in this chapter.

§ 151.061 POSTING OF NOTICE OF INSPECTION AND APPROVAL OF WORK.
   Upon making an inspection of any electrical wiring or equipment, when it is found to have been installed in a satisfactory manner and in accordance with the provisions of this chapter, the Inspector shall place a notice at the service switch or other suitable place stating that the electrical work has been inspected and found to be in accordance with the rules as prescribed in the provisions of this chapter. It shall be unlawful to lath, seal or in any manner conceal any electrical wiring or equipment until the wiring or equipment has been inspected and the notice posted as required by this section.

§ 151.062 TEMPORARY PERMISSION FOR CONNECTION OF ELECTRICAL SUPPLY.
   When written application is filed with him or her requesting such permission, the City Inspector may, before a final certificate of inspection is issued, give temporary permission to connect and furnish electric current to any wiring, apparatus or fixtures for a period of not exceeding 30 days, if, in his or her opinion, the wiring, apparatus or fixtures are in a condition that current may be safely connected, and there exists an urgent necessity for such use.

§ 151.063 ISSUANCE OF FINAL CERTIFICATE OF INSPECTION.
   When any electrical wiring, apparatus or fixtures covered by a permit shall be found on inspection by the Electrical Inspector, or his or her duly authorized assistant, to conform to the rules and regulations provided by this chapter, the City Inspector shall issue a final certificate of inspection certifying that the wiring, apparatus or fixtures have been inspected and found to comply with the rules and regulations, but no certificate shall be issued until the equipment is made to conform to the rules and regulations.
