8-2-6: BUILDING SEWERS AND CONNECTIONS:
   A.   Permit Required: No unauthorized person shall uncover, make any connections with or opening into, use, alter or disturb any public sewer or appurtenance thereof without first obtaining a written permit from the Building Department.
   B.   Owner To Pay Costs And Expenses: All costs and expenses incidental to the installation and connection of the building sewer shall be borne by the owner. The owner shall retain or employ a qualified person or firm approved by the City to make connection to and installation or change within the building, which firm or person shall indemnify the City from any loss or damage that may directly or indirectly be occasioned by the installation of the building sewer.    C.   Separate Connections Required: A separate and independent building sewer shall be provided and required for every building, except where one building stands at the rear of another or on an interior lot and no private sewer is available or can be constructed to the rear building through an adjoining alley, court, yard or driveway, the building sewer from the front building may be extended to the rear building. A separate connection fee shall be required for each separate building. A multiple dwelling unit housed under one building shall pay one connection fee. (1989 Code § 10-1-9, 9-5-1990)
   D.   Permit, Fees And Costs: There shall be two (2) classes of building sewer permits: 1) for residential and commercial service, and 2) for service to establishments producing industrial wastes. In either case, the owner or his agent shall make application on a form furnished by the City. The permit application shall be supplemented by any plans, specifications or other information considered pertinent in the judgment of the Building Inspector. A permit and inspection fee shall be charged for a residential building sewer permit or for an industrial or commercial building sewer permit shall be paid to the City at the time the application is filed, plus such inspection fees as may be established by resolution of the City Council from time to time.
