1711.03 DEFINITIONS.

   For the purpose of this article, the following words, terms, and phrases shall have the meanings herein set out:

   (a)   “BOCA” refers to the Building Officials and Code Administrators International, 4051 Flossmoor Road, Country Club Hills, Illinois 60477-5795.

   (b)   “CABO” refers to the Council of American Building Officials, 5203 Leesburg Pike, Suite 708, Falls Church, Virginia 22041.

   (c)   “Fire Marshal” means the West Virginia State Fire Marshal and/or his designated representatives.

   (d)   “City Building Code” means the entire contents of the referenced codes as adopted in Article 1711, Section 1711.01 of these Codified Ordinances, the State Building Code as promulgated and codified in WV CSR 87-4-1, and all the referenced national codes.

   (e)   “ANSI” means “American National Standards Institute”, 11 West 42nd St., New York, NY 10036.

   (f)   “ASTM” means “American Society of Testing and Materials”.

   (g)   “Building Code” means all aspects of safe building construction and mechanical operations and all safety aspects related to building construction and mechanical operations.

   (h)   “ICC” or “International” means “International Code Council”, 5203 Leesburg Pike, Suite 708, Falls Church, Virginia 22041-3401.

   (i)   “NFPA” means “National Fire Protection Association”, 1 Batterymarch Park, P.O. Box 9101, Quincy, MA 02269-9101.

   (j)   “City” or “local jurisdiction” means the City of St. Albans.

   (k)   “Board of Appeals”. The City Board of Appeals consists of five individuals, as listed in Section 1711.02, with three forming a quorum at any appeal hearing.
