§ 131.99 PENALTY.
   (A)   Any person violating any provision of this chapter for which no specific penalty is prescribed shall be subject to § 10.99 of this code of ordinances.
   (B)   A violation of §§ 131.01 through 131.05 shall be a violation of this code punishable by a fine not to exceed the amount of $100. Violations may be charged by uniform citation pursuant to the provisions of Iowa Code § 805.16. A violation of this chapter is not an offense within the jurisdiction of the juvenile court pursuant to Iowa Code § 232.8. A minor charged with a violation of this chapter shall not be arrested or taken into custody, except as permitted under Iowa Code §§ 232.19 through 232.22.

   (C)   Any person who violates the provisions of §§ 131.20 through 131.25 shall be guilty of a simple misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be subject to punishment by a fine not to exceed $500 and/or a community service requirement.

   (D)   A violation of §§ 131.40 through 131.43 shall be enforced as a civil infraction pursuant to § 10.12. A $750 civil penalty shall be imposed for a social host’s first offense; a $1,000 civil penalty for a social host’s second offense.
